Enjoy 38 pieces by three generations of the Mozart family: Leopold Mozart (1719 - 1787), his son, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 1791), and his son, Franz Xaver Wolfgang Mozart (1791 - 1844). This collection consists of individual spiral-bound duet books presented in score form. You really need musicians playing both parts for the music to make sense.
Duo arrangements of the tunes in this collection, in the same keys, are available for violins, violas, cellos, basses, mandolins, soprano recorders, and alto recorders.
The tunes in this collection are laid out so that there are no page turns to interrupt the flow of your playing.

Deborah Greenblatt, who has been teaching, composing and performing since 1971, is also a prolific arranger of a wide variety of tunes that range from traditional early music to folk songs from diverse cultures. These books are clearly printed and easy to read. Soprano and alto parts are in the same keys. The reason for this is to permit the playing of both C and F instruments in the same ensemble. Most of the tunes are of a moderate length (one page with repeats). There are several very short works (only two or three lines with repeats) and a long piece entitled Variations on “Aline” by Franz Mozart. The forms include the polonaise, minuet, bourree and rondo. The melodies are typically charming, as is characteristic of the lighter music of this era. Overall the collection offers some pleasing additions to the libraries of lower intermediate players who are fond of music from the early Classical era arranged for recorder.
“Deborah Greenblatt is a prolific and talented editor of multiple editions of duets that span a wide variety of styles… Some are accessible to beginners as well as more experienced players. The Mozart Family Duets contain 38 short works, mostly composed by W.A. Mozart and his father Leopold. In addition, the Mozart duets include dance forms, a fantasia, and a work for French horn, among others. The keys are easy and rhythms are not complex. In general, the works included are pleasant and charming. They are fun and enjoyable to play, and nice additions to a concert repertory”
