Welsh Fiddle Tunes for Two

43 traditional Welsh tunes featuring jigs, polkas, reels, and waltzes arranged for two players, with chords for back-up musicians included.

Each Tunes for Two collection consists of individual spiral-bound duet books presented in score form with melody on the top line and harmony beneath so you can play each tune by yourself or with others. The tunes are laid out so that there are no page turns to interrupt the flow of your playing. Duo arrangements of the tunes in this collection, in the same keys, are available for violins, violas, cellos, basses, and mandolins.

PDFs are available worldwide for each of the books in the Tunes for Two series.

Reviews...

“Greenblatt continues to compile and publish period fiddle tunes from the British Isles in an easy-to-follow format. The book gathers up many popular folk fiddle tunes of Wales. The arrangements are set up so that even beginner fiddlers can start to perform a few of the listed jigs and polkas with a fellow fiddler. This book contains chord charts for piano or guitar accompaniment. This is an excellent resource for anyone wishing to expand on music repertoire from the UK.”
...Matt Merta, Fiddler Magazine, Fall 2022

“43 traditional Welsh jigs, polkas, reels and waltzes are arranged here for violin duet; they are also available for two violas, two cellos, two basses or two mandolins. Each piece is only one or two pages long so there are no problems with page turns. Greenblatt has created attractive arrangements suitable for AMEB Grade 1 students. Written in simple keys with few accidentals, both parts can be played in the first position except for the first violin part in The Pursuit of Love. Chord symbols allow for the possibility of guitar or keyboard accompaniments and seven pages of Program Notes give short and interesting insights into each piece.

Greenblatt is a highly experienced teacher, performer and composer. A Master Artist with the Nebraska Arts Council’s Communities Program, she gained her degree in violin performance from the Boston University School of Fine Arts. These arrangements would be fun to play and youngsters would enjoy presenting them at eisteddfods, which is rather appropriate considering that the are of Welsh origin.”

“These very short pieces (between 1 and 2 pages) are perfect for beginners. They are very easy and can mostly be played in first position.”
- Jocelyne Bastien
Journal of the Canadian Viola Society , Fall, 2014
